With the “Tangent Boost” device, the machine can push axially on the tube during bending also in the slide/counter-slide area, optimising the tube development and reducing possible waste.

The 980LE is a CNC tube bending machine in the Linear series for tubes up to 80 millimetres in diameter. The frame has a standard length of 5600mm and the travel of the machine can be extended with or without recovery cycle. The main feature of this machine is the pneumatic balance, a leading edge system that improves energy saving and increases its performance. The extremely small steel bending head has a chain driven transmission. This provides greater space under the bending head allowing the machine to process more complex tube geometries in a single cycle. The direction of bending can be reconfigured manually by the operator rapidly and intuitively so that set-up and start-up can be done quickly. The compact size makes this machine extremely versatile. In fact, like the other models in the Linear series, the vertical travel makes it possible to fit a number of tools simultaneously with different radii and clamping. Furthermore, it was conceived for easy integration with the already existing tools. The reliability of this machine is guaranteed by the technological solutions used. Damage from accidental collision of the components is reduced to a minimum by the horizontal dynamics of the positioner carriage while the axes move on recirculating ball and roller guides that reduce wear and improve performance compared to traditional solutions. The 980LE can be used with a vast range of accessories, such as the Tangent Boost device which pushes the tube axially during bending also in the area of the slide and counterslide, speeding up the processes and reducing the wastage of material. One of the options available is a cutting system. The high production rate, the capacity for use with a vast range of accessories for specific unusual jobs, ability to produce bends with an RM/Ø ratio even lower than 0.8 or thrust bends with variable radius make this machine suitable for use in sectors where efficiency and productivity are prime requirements. The 9 controlled axes that govern the machine are driven by motors with Full Electric technology and controlled a CNC Siemens 840D sl. The 980LE has a three-dimensional graphic software on a 19” LCD touch screen, from which the operator can interact with the machine simulating and optimising tube bending programs. This machine is designed to be integrated into Smart Factory systems.
