SMALL1 is a compact CNC tube bending machine with a completely automatic work cycle for aluminium tubes up to 20mm in diameter. On the same level of larger tube bending machines, the SMALL1 is able to simultaneously use several tools with different radii and clamping, and its bending direction - left or right - can be easily reconfigured by the operator to fit production needs. Five axes controlled by digital motors with Full Electric technology operate the machine, which is managed by a CNC Siemens 840D sl. Clamps are electro-pneumatic. The use of this technology ensures quality, energy savings and minimal scrap. All these features combined with extremely reduced set-up/start up times. Like other Small series tube bending machines, SMALL1 also features high production speeds and the possibility to be implemented with a broad array of accessories for specific and unusual jobs. The efficiency of the machine is guaranteed by the dynamics of the plane positioner which limits damage in case of accidental collision of the components. The ability to produce bends with CLR/DIA ratio even lower than 0.8 make this machine particularly suitable for use in the automotive and aeronautical sectors, and for producing tubes for air conditioning systems. The operator can interact intuitively with the machine through the UII (User Iso Interface), a three-dimensional graphics software on a 19” LCD touch screen that facilitates programming and allows the operator to simulate and optimise bending programs. The SMALL1 is designed to be integrated into Smart Factory systems.
